Rep. Jasmine Crockett Calls Speaker Mike Johnson 'Full of Sh*t' on CNN After Jake Tapper Says 'This Is Cable' — Dispute Centers on Epstein Files

Rep. Jasmine Crockett told CNN she believes Speaker Mike Johnson is 'full of sh*t' after Jake Tapper reminded her 'this is cable' and cursing was allowed. Her remarks came as a discharge petition to release Jeffrey Epstein-related records reached the 218 signatures needed once Rep. Adelita Grijalva was sworn in. Crockett accused Johnson of delaying the House and refusing to seat a duly elected member to avoid the issue, and criticized Republicans for publicly speculating about redacted victim names. She said Johnson likely expected the petition to stall in the Senate or fail to secure enough votes.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett Blasts Speaker Mike Johnson on CNN

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Tex.) sharply criticized Speaker Mike Johnson during a Monday appearance on CNN's The Lead with Jake Tapper, calling him 'full of sh*t' after Tapper reminded her that 'this is cable' and cursing was allowed. Her remark came as lawmakers renewed efforts to force a House vote to release records tied to Jeffrey Epstein.

The discharge petition to compel that vote reached the 218 signatures required after Rep. Adelita Grijalva (D-Ariz.) was finally sworn in following a 50-day delay. For months, former President Donald Trump had publicly dismissed the effort as a 'Democrat hoax' and criticized Republicans who supported it, but on Sunday he posted on Truth Social urging House Republicans to allow a vote to release the Epstein files.

Tapper introduced Crockett by noting her role on the House Oversight Committee and playing a clip of Speaker Johnson telling CNN correspondent Manu Raju that he had not tried to kill the discharge petition but had concerns about protecting victims' privacy.

'We wanted to ensure that victims of these heinous crimes are completely protected from disclosure,' Johnson said. 'Those who don't want their names to be out there — and I'm not sure the discharge does that, and that's part of the problem.'

When Tapper asked for her reaction, Crockett initially held back from swearing but then delivered the blunt assessment on air: 'I'm not going to do it... But I am going to say that he is full — okay, I'm going to do it. He's full of sh*t.'

Crockett explained her reasoning: she accused Johnson of delaying the return of the House to avoid addressing the Epstein matter, and she said he even refused to swear in a duly elected new member of Congress, leaving a district without representation and prompting legal action by the state. She called that action a violation of the Constitution taken to dodge the issue.

She also criticized Republicans who speculated publicly about the identities of redacted victims after some documents were released, saying those guesses forced victims' families to speak out and caused further harm. Crockett suggested Johnson expected the petition to stall — either by the Senate declining to take it up or by not having the votes to pass it — and therefore did not plan for it to actually move forward.

The exchange highlights both the procedural fight over the Epstein records and the heated rhetoric in Washington over how to balance transparency with victim privacy. Video of the segment was made available on CNN.
