Morehouse College opened the Morehouse Multimedia Center on Sept. 23, a new production hub supported by Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand. The facility includes a modular production studio, editing bays and about $250,000 in equipment, and will give students hands-on experience producing podcasts, films and sports broadcasts. Jordan Brand previously pledged more than $1 million to scholarships and programs at Morehouse; the center complements the college's journalism major launched in 2022 and aims to bridge classroom study with professional media practice.
Morehouse Opens Cutting-Edge Multimedia Center Backed by Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand

Morehouse College officially opened the Morehouse Multimedia Center on Wednesday, September 23, creating a dedicated production hub to give students practical, hands-on training in journalism, sports broadcasting, filmmaking, podcasting and other emerging media.
Facilities and Training
The center features a modular production studio, multiple editing bays and roughly $250,000 in professional equipment. Students will produce digital stories, podcasts, short films and live sports broadcasts while receiving mentorship from established, award-winning content creators and industry professionals.
Purpose and Partnerships
The project was made possible in part by support from Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand. Jordan Brand has previously invested in Morehouse’s media and sports programs — notably pledging more than $1 million in 2021 toward scholarships and academic initiatives that support students pursuing journalism and sports-related fields.
"The Morehouse Multimedia Center represents our vision for preparing students not only to participate in the future of media, but to lead it," said Emani Saucier, the center's inaugural director and co-founder.
Mikki Harris, chair of the Journalism in Sports, Culture and Social Justice department, described the center as a bridge between classroom learning and professional media production. Faculty will also use the facility to digitize research and distribute work to broader audiences.
Background and Impact
Morehouse launched its journalism major in 2022 to build a pipeline for students interested in sports, culture and media careers. The college reports that nearly 120 journalism-program alumni currently work in media and sports, while more than 60 graduates have earned advanced degrees in the field. Content produced using equipment purchased for the center reportedly generated over 1 million social media views in August, underscoring early audience engagement.
The Morehouse Multimedia Center aims to combine academic rigor with real-world production experience, positioning students for careers across media, sports and culture while strengthening ties between a historically Black college and high-profile industry partners.
