Elon Musk has denied wrongdoing after emails showed he asked to attend parties on Jeffrey Epstein's private island in 2012–2013, calling Epstein a "creepy loser" and saying he was "too dumb" to interpret the invitations as sexual in nature. The released correspondence includes messages about the "wildest party," references to "Girls FTW," and inquiries while Musk was in the BVI/St Bart's area. Musk says he declined invites to Epstein's island and plane, claims limited contact and that some documents are misread or fake. The disclosures have reignited scrutiny of public figures named in the Epstein files.

Elon Musk has pushed back after newly released emails from the Jeffrey Epstein archive showed him requesting invitations to parties on Epstein's private island in 2012–2013. Musk called Epstein a "creepy loser" and said he would not need Epstein's help to meet young women, adding he was "too dumb" to interpret Epstein's messages as anything but social invitations.

The disclosures, part of a trove of files made public recently, include a November 2012 message in which Musk asked when the "wildest party" on Epstein's island would take place and a 2012 note referencing plans for an "epic vacation" and "Girls FTW [for the win]." Other messages record an exchange in which Epstein mentioned guests connected to the United Nations. Musk replied: "Flying to NY to see UN diplomats do nothing would be an unwise use of time." Epstein then wrote: "Do you think I am retarded? Just kidding, there is no one over 25 and all very cute."

Musk's Response on X

"If I actually wanted to spend my time partying with young women, it would be trivial for me to do so without the help of a creepy loser like Epstein and I would still have 99 per cent of my mind available to think about other things. But I don't."

Musk acknowledged he initially took Epstein's comments at face value, saying he was "dumb enough to think he actually meant hanging out with UN diplomats." He added that even after Epstein clarified the reference to women "under age 25," Musk prioritized work on rockets and cars.

The released emails also show Musk asking about visiting Epstein's island during holidays in December 2013 and referencing attending with then-wife Talulah Riley. In one December 2013 exchange, Musk asked whether Epstein had "any parties planned" while visiting the BVI/St Bart's area. When Epstein warned that "the ratio on my island might make Talulah uncomfortable," Musk replied: "Ratio is not a problem for Talulah."

Musk has said he had limited correspondence with Epstein, declined repeated invitations to visit the island or fly on Epstein's private plane (sometimes referred to as the "Lolita Express"), and that some documents in the release have been misinterpreted or are fake. He also said he pushed for the Epstein files to be made public.

Background

Jeffrey Epstein was convicted in 2006 after pleading guilty to soliciting prostitution from a person under 18 as part of a plea deal. He was later arrested in 2019 on federal sex‑trafficking charges and was found dead in his New York jail cell the same year. The wider release of documents has drawn scrutiny of numerous public figures whose names appear in the files.

The exchanges in these disclosures have renewed public debate about the boundaries between social contact and complicity, and prompted renewed calls for transparency about Epstein's network.
