Linda Brown, a 53-year-old special-education teacher at Robert Healy Elementary in Chicago, was last seen on Jan. 3 after leaving home for an acupuncture appointment in Wicker Park. She reportedly left with her phone and purse and may have been driving a blue Honda Civic (IL plate CX57470). The Chicago Police say she may need medical attention, and family and school officials are appealing to the public for information while CPS provides support to the school community.

Chicago police and family members are urgently seeking information after Linda Brown, a 53-year-old special-education teacher, was reported missing after leaving her Bronzeville home on Jan. 3 for an acupuncture appointment in Wicker Park.

What Happened

According to a missing-persons bulletin from the Chicago Police Department, Brown was last seen in the area of the 4500 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive on Saturday, Jan. 3. Authorities say she may have been driving a blue Honda Civic with Illinois license plate CX57470. Family members told local outlets she left with her phone and purse but never arrived at the appointment and could not be reached.

Family Plea

“I am terrified. I need my wife home,” said her husband, Antwon Brown, to WMAQ, adding that he is “frightened and scared” and is pleading for anyone with information to come forward.

Police Alert and Health Concerns

The Chicago Police noted in their bulletin that Linda Brown “may be in need of medical attention.” Detectives and family members are actively searching and have asked the public for help. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Chicago Police Department's Missing Persons Unit or their local law enforcement agency.

School And Community Response

Brown teaches special education at Robert Healy Elementary. The school principal, Erin Kamradt, sent a letter to families saying the school is working with the CPS Crisis Management Unit to support students and staff, and that school-based mental health professionals are available for anyone who needs extra support.

Authorities describe Linda Brown as approximately 5 feet tall and 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

The family, the Chicago Teachers Union and community members continue to share flyers and appeals on social media, asking anyone who saw Brown or her vehicle on Jan. 3 to contact police. Immediate tips should be provided directly to law enforcement.
