Governor Ivey Grants More Than $2 Million to HudsonAlpha; Wiregrass TRIALS Program to Receive $309,576
DOTHAN, Ala. — Governor Kay Ivey has awarded more than $2 million in grants to HudsonAlpha to support agricultural and forestry initiatives across Alabama. As part of that funding, HudsonAlpha’s TRIALS program in the Wiregrass will receive $309,576 to run a two-year pilot designed to accelerate on-farm adoption of agricultural technology.
The TRIALS pilot will pair growers with researchers and technology companies to conduct field trials, tackle agricultural health challenges and help farmers navigate economic uncertainty. HudsonAlpha cited thin profit margins and growing environmental pressures as primary reasons for launching the program.
The initiative also includes education components, an internship opportunity and one-on-one consultations to help farmers translate trial results into practical, on-farm improvements.

HudsonAlpha has not yet announced when the awarded funds will be disbursed.
