Donald Trump's White House has named 24-year-old Beni Rae Harmony, a Real America’s Voice correspondent since September 2025, as an assistant White House press secretary. Harmony confirmed the appointment on X after TMZ reported the move and said she aims to amplify the concerns of "real Americans." The hire follows Karoline Leavitt's resignation at the end of August to focus on family; Leavitt, 27, will remain an outside adviser to the president. In the interim, Vice President J.D. Vance and other officials have handled press briefings.
Beni Rae Harmony, 24, Joins Trump White House as Assistant Press Secretary

Donald Trump's White House expanded its communications team on Friday by appointing Real America’s Voice correspondent Beni Rae Harmony as an assistant White House press secretary.
Harmony, 24, who joined the conservative outlet in September 2025 and served as its White House correspondent, confirmed the move on X (formerly Twitter) Friday evening after TMZ first reported the recruitment. In a post announcing the hire, she thanked the president and said she aims to represent "real Americans" in the role.
"I'm excited to announce that I am joining the Trump Administration as Asst. White House Press Secretary," Harmony wrote on X. "It's been an honor to report, travel and cover this historic administration as Senior White House Correspondent for Real America's Voice. My goal has always been to ask the questions that matter to real Americans and make sure their voices are heard."
"I'm incredibly grateful to President Trump for this opportunity and his trust," she added. "I'm looking forward to this next chapter — serving the American people and continuing to fight for the American Dream. America First."
Harmony's appointment comes as the White House continues to search for a permanent replacement for Karoline Leavitt, who stepped down as White House press secretary at the end of August.
President Trump announced Leavitt's departure on Truth Social, praising her work and saying she would remain involved as an outside adviser. Leavitt, 27, who became the youngest White House press secretary when Trump returned to office in January 2025, welcomed her second child, a daughter named Viviana "Vivi" Riccio, in May 2026. In a statement on X, Leavitt said she stepped down so she could focus on being the best mother for her two young children while acknowledging the demanding nature of the press secretary role.
In the interim, Vice President J.D. Vance and other administration officials have taken on briefing responsibilities while staffing is finalized.
What This Means
The hire signals the administration's continued effort to fill out its communications team with young, media-savvy staffers familiar with conservative outlets. Harmony’s transition from correspondent to administration official reflects a common pathway in modern political communications, though it may also raise questions about the relationship between partisan media and government press operations.
