The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) alerted residents in northern Israel that loud explosions would be heard across the region as it carried out strikes on targets in southern Lebanon.
Authorities sent a warning message to communities north of Israel ahead of the operation, advising civilians to expect significant detonations and noise. The alerts were intended to reduce panic and help residents prepare for the blasts.
Lebanese media later reported that strikes struck the village of Al-Mansouri and locations in Nabatiya, although independent verification of the damage and casualties was not immediately available.
Military Objectives
During a visit to the IDF's 91st Division, Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir said the military is determined to remove Hezbollah forces from areas south of the Litani River and to work toward the organization's disarmament.
"This objective cannot be fully achieved in cooperation with the Lebanese government as long as the Lebanese Armed Forces do not significantly improve their effectiveness on the ground," Zamir said.
