Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle interrupted live coverage of Donald Trump’s unveiling of TrumpRX, a government website billed as a tool to help consumers find lower-cost prescription drugs. The network aired about ten minutes of Trump’s remarks before switching to a separate report about Savannah Guthrie’s missing mother; it later returned to play an excerpt of Trump’s closing comments and to interview Marty Makary. The Daily Beast contacted the White House and Fox for comment, and critic Michael Flynn slammed the outlet’s coverage choices on X.

Fox News briefly cut away from live coverage of former President Donald Trump unveiling a new government website, TrumpRX, intended to help consumers find lower-cost prescription drugs.

The event, held Thursday night, featured Trump alongside public figures Mehmet Oz and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Trump took the podium at 7:04 p.m. and delivered roughly ten minutes of remarks that the network initially carried live.

After a short demonstration in which Mehmet Oz and National Design Studio Director Joe Gebbia explained how the platform works, The Ingraham Angle switched back to an ongoing report about Today show host Savannah Guthrie’s missing mother. Fox returned later in the hour to air an excerpt of Trump’s closing remarks and to interview Food and Drug Administration commentator Marty Makary, who called the site “amazing.”

The prescription-site portion of the event continued for several minutes after the network’s initial cutaway, during which Trump briefly returned to the podium and remarked on the political surprise of a Kennedy working in a Republican administration.

Reaction And Context

The Daily Beast said it reached out to both the White House and Fox News for comment regarding the programming decision. Trump has praised Laura Ingraham in the past, though she challenged some of his claims in two on-camera interviews last year—a move that drew criticism from some conservative voices.

"The wh needs to stop giving FOX NEWS anymore time," wrote retired Gen. Michael Flynn—a former national security advisor pardoned by Trump—on X. "And ingraham ought to run for president if she thinks she so damn smart. But she thinks she the smartest person in any room."

Observers noted the segment choice highlights the editorial decisions networks make during rolling coverage and how competing stories can push a live political event off the air.
