A Louisiana man has been arrested after authorities say a domestic dispute that began days earlier culminated in a violent assault in Ponchatoula that left a woman hospitalized with extensive facial injuries.

What Authorities Say

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Brandon Patrick, 31, and said he was taken into custody late on Friday, Jan. 30. Deputies allege the assault occurred on Tuesday, Jan. 27, following a dispute that investigators say began several days earlier and continued through the prior weekend.

Allegations and Injuries

Officials allege the woman was held against her will for multiple days. Deputies say she tried to escape and that Patrick bit her face during the attempt, removing part of it. The victim remains hospitalized and is receiving treatment for extensive injuries.

Charges and Investigation

Patrick is charged with domestic abuse battery with serious bodily injury and false imprisonment. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and that additional or enhanced charges may be filed as more information becomes available.

Suspect Description and Warnings

Before his arrest, the sheriff’s office warned Patrick was considered dangerous. Deputies described him as an identical twin with distinctive marks: an old stab wound on his right hand, a half-sleeve tattoo on his left arm showing a house and scroll, and a full sleeve of tattoos on his right arm. Officials also said he is a convicted felon with a known local gang affiliation.

"This was a gruesome domestic violence incident," the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a release.

Authorities have not released further details about the victim’s identity or a possible motive. The sheriff’s office is continuing its investigation and asked anyone with information to contact law enforcement.
