CENTCOM says U.S. forces executed five precision strikes in Syria from Jan. 27–Feb. 2, destroying an ISIS communications site, a logistics node and weapons caches with 50 precision munitions. The strikes are part of Operation Hawkeye Strike, launched after a Dec. 13, 2025 ambush near Palmyra that killed two U.S. service members and an interpreter. CENTCOM reports more than 50 ISIS fighters have been killed or captured, including Bilal Hasan al-Jasim, who was linked to the ambush.
U.S. Forces Carry Out Five Precision Strikes in Syria as Part of Operation Hawkeye Strike

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that U.S. forces carried out five precision strikes in Syria between Jan. 27 and Feb. 2, destroying an Islamic State (ISIS) communications site, a critical logistics node and weapons storage facilities.
CENTCOM said the strikes used 50 precision munitions delivered by a mix of fixed-wing, rotary-wing and unmanned aircraft. The operations were conducted as part of Operation Hawkeye Strike, launched in response to a Dec. 13, 2025 ambush near Palmyra that killed two U.S. service members and an American interpreter.
In a statement, CENTCOM commander Adm. Brad Cooper said the strikes "demonstrate our continued focus and resolve for preventing an ISIS resurgence in Syria," and emphasized that the operations were coordinated with coalition and partner forces to protect U.S. personnel, regional partners and the homeland.
After nearly two months of targeted operations, CENTCOM reports that more than 50 ISIS fighters have been killed or captured. The command also said its forces killed Bilal Hasan al-Jasim on Jan. 16 in northwest Syria; CENTCOM identified him as directly connected to the Dec. 13 attack.
CENTCOM noted that, before Operation Hawkeye Strike began, U.S. and partner forces in Syria had carried out more than 80 operations over the previous six months to disrupt militant networks that pose a direct threat to U.S. interests and regional security.
Context: The strikes are part of an ongoing campaign to prevent ISIS from reconstituting safe havens and to deter attacks on coalition forces and regional civilians.
