The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled the Yetonamr Pull String Teething Toy after 32 reported choking incidents. The agency found the toy’s silicone strings are "smaller than permitted" and can lodge in an infant’s throat, risking respiratory distress or death. About 6,800 units sold on Amazon (June–Oct 2025), Model No. 688-59, priced $10–$16, are affected. Owners should stop use, cut off and discard the strings, mark the toy "DESTROYED," and email a photo to toyetonamr_recall@163.com to obtain a refund.
Popular Montessori Pull-String Teething Toy Recalled After 32 Choking Reports — 6,800 Units Affected

A widely used Montessori-style baby toy sold on Amazon has been recalled after dozens of reported choking incidents. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says the silicone strings on the Yetonamr Pull String Teething Toy are "smaller than permitted" and can lodge in an infant’s throat, posing a risk of respiratory distress, severe choking and death.
What Happened
The CPSC issued a recall on Thursday, Jan. 22, after receiving multiple reports that the toy’s silicone string "tentacles" can reach the back of the throat and become lodged. The agency is aware of 32 choking incidents tied to the product.
"The silicone strings can reach the back of the throat and become lodged, posing a risk of respiratory distress, serious choking hazard and death," the CPSC said in its recall notice.

About 6,800 units of the Yetonamr Pull String Teething Toy are included in the recall. The toy features silicone strings, soft push buttons and three free‑spinning rings, plus a red or blue ball mounted on an off‑white disc. The recalled items were sold on Amazon from June 2025 through October 2025 for about $10–$16 and are labeled with "Model no. 688-59" on the packaging.

Consumers who purchased the toy should stop using it immediately. The CPSC advises owners to follow these steps to receive a refund:
- Cut off and safely discard all silicone string tentacles.
- Write the word DESTROYED on the main body of the toy with a permanent marker.
- Take a clear photograph of the destroyed toy.
