Christmas Eve ATM Heist Attempt: Thieves Drag ATM Through Fort Worth 7‑Eleven, Flee In Stolen SUV

Surveillance video released by the White Settlement Police Department shows two suspects attempting to drag an ATM out of a Fort Worth 7‑Eleven on Christmas Eve by towing it through the store’s front doors with a stolen SUV and a metal cable, police said.
Details Of The Incident
The attempted theft occurred just before 4 a.m. on Wednesday. Investigators say the two men arrived in a black SUV reported stolen from Dallas, wearing dark clothing with their faces covered. One suspect smashed the front door with a metal object, attached a cable to the ATM and hitched it to the vehicle.
Responding officers found extensive damage to the storefront: debris, shelving and merchandise were scattered throughout the interior and into the parking lot. Police say the suspects made two attempts to pull the machine free. During the second attempt the ATM became dislodged from the vehicle as the suspects fled; the machine was later recovered by police.
Investigation And Public Appeal
Investigators are examining whether this incident is connected to a string of similar convenience‑store crimes reported across North Texas in recent weeks. Police used license‑plate readers and city cameras to search the area and tracked the stolen SUV to a location about a half‑mile from the 7‑Eleven.
Police Appeal: Authorities ask anyone with information or footage from nearby cameras to contact the White Settlement Police Department to help identify the suspects and determine if the theft is part of a broader pattern.
