Attorney General Pam Bondi Orders Intensified Probes Into Antifa and Other Groups Over Alleged Domestic Terrorism

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi ordered federal law enforcement to intensify investigations of Antifa and other groups labeled "extremist," asking the FBI to assemble a list of organizations that may be involved in domestic terrorism. An internal memo told prosecutors and agencies to prioritize domestic terrorism probes and to review potential tax‑related offenses by groups that may have defrauded the IRS. Bondi instructed FBI Joint Terrorism Task Forces to prioritize such investigations and ordered agencies to search and share any intelligence on Antifa.

Bondi Directs Federal Agencies To Step Up Investigations Into Antifa, Other Extremist Groups

Washington, Dec. 4 — U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has instructed federal law enforcement to increase investigations of the anti‑fascist movement Antifa and other organizations she described as "extremist," according to an internal Justice Department memo reviewed by Reuters.

The memo, circulated to prosecutors and federal law enforcement agencies, directs the Justice Department to prioritize investigating and prosecuting acts of domestic terrorism. It also requests that the FBI compile a list of entities that may be engaged in domestic terrorism and examine potential related "tax crimes" by groups suspected of defrauding the Internal Revenue Service.

"These domestic terrorists use violence or the threat of violence to advance political and social agendas, including opposition to law and immigration enforcement; extreme views in favor of mass migration and open borders; adherence to radical gender ideology, anti‑Americanism, anti‑capitalism, or anti‑Christianity," Bondi wrote in the memo.

The memo instructs FBI Joint Terrorism Task Forces to "prioritize the investigation of such conduct" and orders federal agencies to search their records for any intelligence on Antifa groups and forward relevant information to investigators. The directive underscores an administrative push to coordinate federal investigative resources on domestic threats identified by the department.
