Authorities have not yet established a motive for the shooting. The MNPD has asked anyone with information to contact investigators; the department did not immediately respond to media requests for additional comment.

Family And Community

Cameron's family described him as bright, ambitious and deeply loved across the community. His mother, Brittany Frierson, said her son was "very loving" and had big plans for the future. His father, Chris Frierson, told local media the family has been overwhelmed by support from friends and classmates across the city.

“Cameron was just doing what so many high school students do on a Friday night — enjoying a football game. And in an instant, our lives changed forever,” Brittany Frierson said.

Cameron is survived by his parents and five siblings. Local outlets report the family and investigators continue to seek answers as the legal process moves forward.

The suspects were charged in Juvenile Court; prosecutors will determine whether any charges should be handled in adult court as the case develops. Police continue to investigate and encourage anyone with relevant information to reach out to the MNPD tip line.
