The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of roughly 37,000 squishy toys made by ABC Trading—Squishy Dumpling Toys (model 3655) and Crazy Squib Ball Toys (model 3984)—sold nationwide from April to June 2026 because they can expand beyond safety limits and release glitter and water beads. No injuries have been reported. Consumers should remove the toys from children immediately and contact ABC Trading for a full refund. The recall follows similar actions and a CPSC warning about counterfeit squishy toys that may present choking, intestinal blockage or burn hazards.

Nearly 37,000 glitter-filled squishy toys have been recalled nationwide after federal regulators warned they can pose a potentially deadly ingestion and choking hazard.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced on Oct. 1 that ABC Trading is recalling its Squishy Dumpling Toys (model 3655) and Crazy Squib Ball Toys (model 3984). According to the recall notice, the toys can expand beyond permitted safety limits and contain glitter and water beads that may be released if the toy's exterior tears or bursts.

The recalled products were sold at retail stores across the United States from April through June 2026. The CPSC report states that no incidents have been linked to these items so far.

Related Recalls and Safety Concerns

The ABC Trading recall follows a Sept. 3 action by OKK Trading, which recalled about 7,200 Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toys for similar safety violations. In August, the CPSC issued a broader warning about counterfeit and noncompliant squishy toys that can break open and expose children to water beads, liquids, powders, sand or gels.

The CPSC cautioned that exposure to these materials can cause choking, intestinal blockages, aspiration, chemical exposure, burns or other injuries. The agency also warned that heating or microwaving the toys—an action seen in viral social media trends—can increase burn and rupture risks. Following the CPSC warning, some online retailers, including Amazon, removed a number of counterfeit squishy toys from their platforms.

If you own an affected item, stop using it immediately and contact ABC Trading for refund instructions. For additional information or to report an incident, consumers may consult the CPSC recall notice.
