Prosecutors filed a declaration of intent to indict a Ramat Gan man on Sunday over his suspected role in a string of July attacks that targeted several Israeli media outlets and a Justice Ministry building, police said.
Allegations and Arrest
The suspect, a man in his 40s, was arrested on July 30 after a weeks-long investigation. Police say evidence links him to multiple incidents in July in which bricks were thrown at entrances to buildings housing Channel 12, Haaretz, Israel Hayom and the Justice Ministry.
Threats Against Journalists
Investigators allege the acts were intended to intimidate news organizations and influence coverage of ongoing stories. In the most recent publicly reported episode, in the early hours of July 28, a masked individual shattered the glass entrance to Channel 12’s Tel Aviv offices by throwing two bricks. A threatening letter left nearby demanded the network apologize for its reporting on the Sde Teiman affair and warned of further violence.

"Until you apologize over the Sde Teiman affair, I am not stopping. The next brick will be aimed at the head of a Channel 12 employee and someone will end up dead."
Police later posted an image of the threatening letter on August 9, 2026, and said they believe the suspect left the note at Channel 12’s entrance.
Other Incidents
Footage from July 5 shows a masked figure approaching Channel 12 shortly after 3 a.m. and throwing two bricks at the entrance; the second broke the glass door. On July 8, security video reportedly captured a masked person throwing two bricks through the entrance gate at Haaretz’s Tel Aviv offices, puncturing its glass door. Authorities also linked damage to buildings that house Israel Hayom and the Justice Ministry, though they provided fewer public details about those incidents.
Investigation And Evidence
Police said investigators identified the suspect using technological methods and undercover work. During a search of his home, officers seized clothing and other items they say tie him to the offenses. His detention has been extended several times.
The prosecutor’s declaration is a procedural step signaling an intent to bring formal charges; authorities said an indictment is expected in the coming days. Police stressed they treat attempts to intimidate journalists and media outlets seriously and will act against violence or threats that seek to interfere with press activity.
