Sherman pressed the president on the consequences if Democrats retook the House, warning it could mean a flurry of oversight, subpoenas and even another impeachment effort.
When Sherman asked, "Do you think they will?" Trump replied, "Well, a lot of people are saying I'm one of the greatest presidents ever." Sherman shot back, "They're not saying that, though." Trump responded, "Yeah, but they know. They see the results."
Trump: "Look, we have right now more money being invested in the United States than at any time in history. More money than any country has ever had being invest — we're at numbers that nobody — we're building more factories, plants, and none of them — I was just talking about AI, AI, yes — but, auto plants. Plants of all kinds. Toyota just announced they're coming in with the largest plant anywhere in the world, they're leaving Mexico. They're leaving Canada. People are leaving — the car companies are leaving Germany, they're leaving Japan, they're all coming here because of tariffs. Because of my very smart use of tariffs."
Sherman returned to the impeachment question and suggested Democrats would "be all over you" with subpoenas and oversight. Trump called the inquiries "a very unfair thing," compared the treatment he and Hillary Clinton received, and said opponents had been "vicious" in attempts to remove or discredit him.
When Sherman asked whether Democrats were "more vicious than Republicans," Trump answered, "I think Republicans are too nice, actually. I think the Republicans are much nicer. I think the Republicans are much more gentle than the Democrats."
