The episode follows other recent dangerous bison encounters in the park, including a late-June injury to a 12-year-old and an early-July attack on 65-year-old Carl Isom-McDaniel.
Terrifying Video: Massive Bison Rams SUV in Yellowstone, Blows Out Tire

A dramatic encounter unfolded in Yellowstone National Park when a large bison charged an SUV, slamming into the vehicle and blowing out a tire, leaving the car disabled at the roadside.
The episode was recorded on video and posted to TikTok by Tonya Nameson. Nameson said in her caption that she had begun rolling up her window and was hesitant to move closer to the slow-moving SUV ahead when the bison suddenly rammed the vehicle. The footage captures the sharp hiss of air as the tire popped and the SUV pulled over.
It was not clear from the video how many people were inside the vehicle after the impact.
Other Recent Bison Incidents
Yellowstone has seen several dangerous bison encounters this summer. In late June, a 12-year-old was hospitalized after being injured by a bison near Mud Volcano, north of Fishing Bridge. In early July, 65-year-old Carl Isom-McDaniel was attacked by a bison at Bridge Bay Compound near Yellowstone Lake. In an Instagram video, McDaniel said the animal had shown no obvious warning "or anything like that, until it picked a target," adding, "That target happened to be me." His grandson was not hurt.
Safety Reminder
Park officials regularly warn visitors to keep a safe distance from wildlife. Bison are large and unpredictable—visitors should remain inside vehicles when animals are nearby, stay at least 25 yards away from bison, and never approach or attempt to feed wild animals.
