German federal prosecutors say investigators uncovered what they describe as a suspected network that procured weapons for the Palestinian militant group Hamas and that this activity was linked to concrete plans for an attack in Europe, Federal Attorney General Jens Rommel announced on Monday.

"A pre-produced video claiming responsibility was seized from one of the suspects," Rommel told reporters at the Federal Prosecutor's Office annual news conference in Karlsruhe in western Germany.
Authorities say nine people suspected of supporting Hamas have been detained since late last year. Prosecutors allege the suspects were involved in transporting and storing weapons and ammunition for the group, an activity they say stretches back to at least mid-2025.
