Investigative journalist Jeremy Corbell warned on his program that unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) have demonstrated the ability to outmaneuver U.S. military systems in restricted airspace, calling the issue a long-standing national security concern and urging the Pentagon to declassify 46 related videos.
What Corbell Says
Corbell, host of the "WEAPONIZED" podcast and the subject of the upcoming film Sleeping Dog, said the videos would provide important data for investigators and that the public has a right to review them.
"It's another data set of footage the American public can look at. There are machines, there are craft of unknown origin that fly with impunity in our restricted airspace," Corbell said. "Our government has been assessing this as a national threat for decades. The jig is up. People now know UAP are real."
Observed Behavior: Instantaneous Motion
Corbell described some UAP behavior as showing "instantaneous motion," meaning objects change velocity almost immediately without an observable acceleration phase or obvious means of propulsion such as engines. He said that capability—if confirmed—would exceed current U.S. capabilities and challenge conventional understanding of inertia and propulsion.
Drone Footage and Maneuverability
Commenting on a clip captured by an MQ‑9 Reaper drone, Corbell noted the object in the video did not appear aerodynamic. He said the object "instantaneously shoots off to the right" when the drone acquired a weapons-grade lock, and argued its evasive performance exceeded that of known military systems.
Congressional Scrutiny and National Security Concerns
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform’s Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets said in an April 1 press release that it is continuing to investigate UAP encounters and concerns about government transparency. Task force chairwoman Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R‑Fla.) warned that UAP activity near sensitive military airspace "poses a threat to the security of the armed forces and their readiness."
Unanswered Questions
Corbell characterized UAPs as a "known secret," saying many officials privately accept their existence and occasional ability to evade detection and defensive systems. He emphasized that who builds or pilots these craft remains unknown and that more transparency and data are needed to assess the threat and technical implications.
