Susan Avalon has been charged in connection with the fatal shootings of two of her former husbands on Dec. 17 in Florida, authorities say. The incidents spanned multiple counties and prompted coordinated investigations by local law enforcement.
Victims and locations: Court documents identify the victims as Timothy Fletcher, found dead in Tampa (Hillsborough County), and David Scott, found in Bradenton (Manatee County).
According to law enforcement statements, investigators believe Avalon first shot Fletcher in Tampa and then traveled to Bradenton, where she allegedly shot Scott at his front door. Scott was alive when officers arrived and reportedly said the shooter could have been his ex-wife, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.
Scott's daughter told investigators she heard three gunshots and saw a vehicle leave the scene. Using that vehicle description and other evidence recovered at Scott's residence, officers later located Avalon in Citrus County. When confronted by deputies and asked about one of her ex-husbands, she allegedly responded, "Which one?" the sheriff's office reported.

Following that encounter, Manatee County investigators asked Tampa police to perform a welfare check at Fletcher's home; Tampa officers then discovered Fletcher had been fatally shot. Authorities allege Avalon shot Fletcher before traveling to Bradenton and shooting Scott.
Charges, Plea and Prosecutor Statement
Avalon faces a first-degree premeditated murder charge in connection with Fletcher's death and two counts of second-degree murder in connection with Scott's killing. She has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office announced it will seek the death penalty in the Hillsborough County case. Local authorities have released limited details as investigations and coordinated prosecutions proceed in both counties.
