Audio posted to LiveATC.net captured a male crew member saying, "We've got an issue up here," and describing a "sequential" beeping noise — roughly one beep per second — that led the crew to treat the situation as a possible bomb and request a diversion.

"We are going to have to start treating this as a potential bomb," the crew member said in the recording.
Response and Investigation
Allegheny County Police confirmed their bomb squad, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team and K9 units were requested to respond. The ACPD said the teams performed sweeps of the aircraft, passengers and luggage and found no suspicious devices or threats. The incident was cleared by authorities at 11:47 a.m. local time.
A spokesperson for the Allegheny County Airport Authority said airport emergency crews "responded quickly to the reported incident," that affected passengers were rebooked onto another aircraft to complete their journeys, and that the airport remained open and operational.
Aftermath
After law enforcement completed their standard safety checks and cleared the plane, passengers continued to their destinations. United and local authorities emphasized that safety and security remain top priorities and that standard procedures were followed to ensure passenger safety.
