Her husband, Spencer Tepe, 39, was shot seven times, including a head wound. The couple were found dead at their Columbus home on Dec. 30; their two young children, ages 3 and 1, were unharmed. Monique's ex-husband, Michael McKee, was arrested Jan. 10 in Illinois and charged with multiple counts of aggravated murder and aggravated robbery; he has pleaded not guilty.

An autopsy released by the Franklin County coroner and obtained by PEOPLE shows that Monique Tepe, 39, was shot nine times — including a wound to the right cheek — and sustained an additional contusion to her left calf in the attack that left her and her husband, Spencer Tepe, dead in their Columbus, Ohio, home.

Autopsy Findings

The coroner's report lists Monique's official cause of death as "gunshot wounds of head, trunk, and extremities with visceral, skeletal, and soft tissue injuries." According to the report, Monique suffered nine gunshot wounds overall, including three wounds to the chest and at least one to the right cheek. Investigation and Arrest

Authorities arrested Monique's ex-husband, 39-year-old surgeon Michael McKee of Illinois, on Jan. 10 near his workplace. Prosecutors say McKee drove approximately 900 miles to the couple's residence the night of the killings. He has been extradited to Ohio and charged with four counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated robbery; he has pleaded not guilty.

Court records obtained earlier by PEOPLE show McKee had faced a medical malpractice suit months before the killings. Friends of Monique told PEOPLE that the ex-husband had difficulty accepting her new marriage.
