Two men fought inside a downtown Los Angeles Whole Foods on Dec. 10, and a bystander’s video captured the violent scuffle. Store staff and a security guard intervened as the pair crashed into pastry displays, scattering and destroying baked goods. Both men left before LAPD arrived and appeared to have no major injuries; officials said the cause is unclear and no investigation is planned.

A chaotic fight between two men inside a Whole Foods in downtown Los Angeles was captured on video by a bystander and widely shared online.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department and reporting by ABC7, the incident occurred on Wednesday, December 10, at about 2:42 p.m. The footage shows the pair wrestling near a refrigerated section while a Whole Foods employee tries to intervene.

The men can be seen gripping and punching each other before they crash into tables displaying baked goods, scattering and destroying pastries and breads. At one point, one man is slammed into a display and both end up tumbling to the floor.

A store security guard eventually separates the combatants after they fall to the ground. Witnesses told reporters that neither man appeared to have suffered serious injuries, and both left the store before officers from the LAPD arrived.

Officials said it remains unclear what sparked the altercation, and ABC7 reported that authorities do not plan to open an investigation into the incident. The clip, published by People after initial local coverage, also shows store staff and bystanders attempting to break up the fight amid the damaged pastry displays.

This is not the first violent confrontation recorded at a Los Angeles Whole Foods this year. In July, a separate altercation at another location reportedly involved two men armed with weapons — one allegedly carrying a crowbar and the other a screwdriver. In that case, one man fled before police arrived and the other was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead; police said they believed the July incident was related to homelessness, though the motive remained unclear.

The December incident raises questions about customer and staff safety in public retail spaces, even as authorities concluded no further action will be taken in this specific case.
