Summary: Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, a US-based Gazan activist and Atlantic Council fellow, posted a video he says shows warehouses filled with infant formula allegedly hoarded by Hamas. He asserts the supplies were hidden in Gaza Ministry of Health facilities to intensify the humanitarian crisis and increase diplomatic pressure on Israel. The claim has not been independently verified; The Telegraph and other outlets have requested further evidence. The allegation sits within a disputed account of how and why Gaza experienced widespread food shortages after an aid cutoff in March.
Hamas Accused Of Hoarding Infant Formula In Gaza — Activist Shares Controversial Warehouse Video

A US-based Gazan activist has posted a video that he says shows warehouses stacked with infant formula and nutritional drinks allegedly stored by Hamas. The claim, if true, would suggest deliberate diversion of life-saving supplies during a period of acute food shortages in Gaza — but the allegation remains unverified.
What Was Posted: The footage was shared by Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, a Gaza-born researcher and fellow at the Atlantic Council, who says activists discovered multiple clandestine storage sites. In social media posts he wrote that “during the worst days of the hunger crisis in Gaza in the past six months, Hamas deliberately hid literal tons of infant formula and nutritional shakes for children by storing them in clandestine warehouses belonging to the Gaza ministry of health.”
“When countless other Palestinian activists and I from Gaza said this back in July, August, and September, we were villainised, attacked, threatened, and made into pariahs by the ‘pro-Palestine’ industrial complex and activist mafias,” Mr Alkhatib wrote on social media.
Evidence And Verification: Mr Alkhatib has published one video but has not released a wider body of corroborating footage, photos, inventories, or independent verification to support claims of systemic hoarding. News organisations, including The Telegraph, have asked him for additional documentation.
Context
The allegation comes amid a broader, highly contested debate over responsibility for widespread food insecurity in Gaza. Israel cut off most aid to the Gaza Strip in early March. In April, the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) set up a small number of aid hubs, largely located outside densely populated areas.
Hundreds of people seeking assistance were killed in and around those hubs; eyewitness accounts, humanitarian groups and Israeli authorities have offered competing explanations, with both the Israel Defense Forces and Hamas blamed in different accounts. By June and July, hunger had intensified. International pressure eventually prompted Israel to allow increased aid deliveries, though reports of looting and diversion of supplies were common.
Claims By International Bodies: The United Nations and several foreign governments have pointed to the initial suspension of aid as a primary driver of the humanitarian crisis. Israeli officials have separately accused Hamas of diverting and stealing humanitarian supplies. The new video and related claims feed into this disputed narrative.
Takeaway: The footage shared by Mr Alkhatib has reignited questions about how humanitarian goods were handled in Gaza during the height of the crisis. However, because the broader claim of widespread, intentional hoarding has not yet been independently verified, it should be treated cautiously while investigators and news organisations seek further evidence.
