Falcon 9 Launch Tonight from Vandenberg — How to Watch SpaceX’s Starlink Mission

SpaceX plans a Falcon 9 launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base on Monday, Dec. 1, with a four-hour window opening at 6:10 p.m. PT. The rocket will carry 27 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit to expand the company’s internet constellation. Watch a live webcast on SpaceX’s website or the X TV app beginning about five minutes before liftoff; an FAA advisory notes a backup opportunity the next day if needed.

SpaceX is targeting Monday, Dec. 1, for a Falcon 9 launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base in Santa Barbara County. A four-hour launch window opens at 6:10 p.m. PT; an FAA operations-plan advisory indicates a backup opportunity could be available the following day if weather or technical issues force a postponement.

What’s launching

The mission will use a two-stage, 230-foot Falcon 9 booster to deploy 27 Starlink internet satellites into low-Earth orbit. These lower-altitude satellites quickly begin circling Earth and join SpaceX’s growing internet constellation.

How to watch

SpaceX will provide a live webcast on its official website and through the X TV mobile app. The stream typically begins about five minutes before liftoff, and SpaceX may post updates on its X account during the countdown.

Where you might see it

Residents of Palm Springs, Riverside County and other parts of Southern California are close enough to potentially see the rocket climb away from the pad and streak across the sky, weather permitting. For the best chance of an in-person sighting, find a location with a clear western horizon and check local visibility forecasts.

About SpaceX and Starlink

Founded in 2002 by Elon Musk, SpaceX is headquartered at Starbase in South Texas, where the company conducts test flights of its large Starship vehicle. SpaceX regularly launches missions from both California and Florida, flying Falcon 9 rockets for Starlink deployments and other commercial, civil and national security payloads. Starlink, SpaceX’s satellite internet service, now includes thousands of satellites that serve customers globally.
