Tucker Carlson Labels Benjamin Netanyahu the ‘Main Enemy’ of Western Civilization

Tucker Carlson said on the Shawn Ryan Show that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is "the main enemy" of Western civilization, arguing that Netanyahu and movements that privilege groups over individuals threaten core Western values. Carlson listed tribalism, identity politics, DEI and Zionism as examples of group-based ideologies he views as anti‑Western. He compared collective moral judgments to Nazism and emphasized that Western values center on individual, God-given rights. Carlson also criticized the Republican Party as nearly "useless."

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson told the Shawn Ryan Show that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is "the main enemy" of Western civilization, arguing that Netanyahu and certain ideologies prioritize group identity over individual rights.

Carlson challenged common scapegoats and said the real threat to Western values is anyone who denies the primacy of the individual. He asked,

"There are enemies of Western civilization. Who are these people? Are they the Muslims? Are they the Jews?"
and answered:
"No, they're not the Muslims, they're not the Jews, they're not the blacks, they're not whatever group you're blaming. They're any individual who doesn't acknowledge the human soul, period. That the rights begin and end with the individual, not the group."

He identified tribalism, identity politics, diversity-equity-inclusion (DEI) programs and, controversially, Zionism as examples of movements he believes place group identity above the individual. Carlson argued these belief systems assume moral superiority for one group over others and said that contradicts the West's foundational commitment to individual rights.

Singling out Netanyahu, Carlson asked what it means to claim the mantle of defender of Western civilization and said,

"What does it mean to defend the West? You know, Netanyahu, 'I'm a defender of Western civilization.' No, you're its enemy. Of course, you're literally its main enemy."

He explained his reasoning by saying Netanyahu, in Carlson's view, endorses judging people "because of how they were born, because of their inherent evil," a stance Carlson rejected. Carlson drew a historical parallel to Nazism, warning that collective moral judgments can lead to grave abuses, and reiterated his core claim:

"The individual has rights which were given to him by God, period. You don't have to be a Christian to defend that principle."

Carlson also criticized the Republican Party during the interview, saying it was "almost to the point where it's just useless." The remarks were made during an appearance on the Shawn Ryan Show and were widely circulated online.
