Boeing has been awarded two U.S. Department of Defense contracts totaling more than $7 billion, the Pentagon announced on Tuesday. The awards support Army rotary-wing modernization and continued Air Force production efforts.

Contract details

The larger award, valued at nearly $4.7 billion, covers new-build Apache AH-64E attack helicopters, Longbow crew trainers, and related accessories for the U.S. Army. This contract funds both aircraft production and training systems to support squadron readiness.

The second contract, worth about $2.4 billion, is an Air Force Lot 12 production award (G081) that includes production aircraft along with associated subscriptions and software licenses. Those subscriptions and licenses typically support mission systems, avionics updates and sustainment of the fleet.

Why it matters

These awards reflect ongoing Pentagon procurement activity to modernize rotary-wing capabilities and maintain operational readiness. Combined, they underscore Boeing's role as a major defense supplier and the U.S. military's continued investment in aircraft production and support services.
