White House memo accuses Alibaba of aiding Chinese military operations against U.S. targets

The Financial Times reported on Friday that a White House national security memo alleges Alibaba provided technological support to the People’s Liberation Army for operations aimed at targets in the United States. The FT said the memo includes declassified "top secret" intelligence describing how Alibaba furnished capabilities the White House views as a threat to U.S. national security.

"The memo lays out declassified intelligence that links Alibaba's technology and services to capabilities used by the PLA," the Financial Times reported, citing the White House document.

Alibaba and the Chinese Embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to requests for comment. If the allegations are substantiated, they could increase scrutiny on global technology companies and further strain U.S.-China relations.
