LAPD: No arrests or injuries as Dodgers fans celebrate across Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Police Department said Saturday night that no arrests or injuries were reported as Dodgers fans poured into streets across the city to celebrate the team's World Series victory. While the gatherings were largely peaceful, officials reported instances of vandalism and graffiti in some neighborhoods.

Echo Park: Several businesses, multiple driverless vehicles and at least one Metro bus suffered vandalism and graffiti, authorities said.

Pacoima: A large crowd commandeered an intersection for a sideshow, where drivers performed “donuts” and onlookers set off fireworks. LAPD officers issued a dispersal order at the scene as crowds filled the crossing, waving Dodger flags and creating safety concerns.

Officers patrolled affected areas, including some on horseback, and repeatedly advised people to disperse. The department placed itself on Tactical Alert at about 6 p.m. Saturday and temporarily closed certain streets to help manage crowd movement and reduce risks.

As crowds swelled, dispersal orders were issued at Chick Hearn Court and 11th Street, and later at Sunset Boulevard and Echo Park Avenue. City News Service contributed to this report.

Note: Authorities said no injuries were reported and no arrests were made during the evening’s celebrations despite isolated incidents of vandalism.
