What Happened
Los Angeles Police responded to reports of a stabbing at the intersection of Stocker Street and Crenshaw Boulevard shortly before 2 p.m. Authorities say the 40-year-old man was stabbed following a confrontation involving several people. As officers arrived, additional fights reportedly broke out in adjacent streets.

Officers issued dispersal orders and lined up patrol vehicles along streets near the parade route to control the crowd and restore order. An LAPD officer was reportedly assaulted in the Leimert Park area; police have not yet confirmed whether that assault was directly connected to the stabbing.
