Speaking to the assembly, Trump said the United States "totally rejects any attempt to construct a globalist scheme to control for the artificial intelligence being spoken of so much now," and suggested a new official label to better reflect what he described as real and impressive capabilities.
"It makes it sound fake, and it is not fake, it's actually amazing, but we have to be careful," Trump said. "In other words, welcome to the new world of super intelligence—S.I. Let's see if that goes. It sounds much better, it is much better, and it's much more accurate."
Trump added that he would like to see U.S. government documents—and "hopefully the world's"—updated to use the new phrase. He also acknowledged uncertainty about his authority to force such a change, saying, "Let's see if I have any power. Maybe I do and maybe I don't. We're gonna find out pretty soon."
The phrase appears to have originated from a Monday poll Mr. Trump posted on his social platform, Truth Social, where he asked followers, "Which name do we like for the new phenomena — SUPER INTELLIGENCE VS. SUPERIOR INTELLIGENCE?" According to the post, "super intelligence" won the informal poll by about 30 percentage points; the vote was an unscientific sampling of his supporters.
