President Donald Trump has proposed rebranding "artificial intelligence" with three alternatives he described as "far more elegant and accurate": Superior Intelligence (SI), Supreme Intelligence (SI) and Extreme Intelligence (EI). He floated the options in posts on Truth Social and X and ran polls across the two platforms.
Across roughly 300,000 votes, the option Superior Intelligence finished first while Supreme Intelligence attracted the fewest votes and was subsequently removed from a follow-up poll.

In his posts, Trump argued that the phrase "Artificial Intelligence" is "inaccurate, and very ineloquent" and offered the three replacement suggestions. After noting the weak showing for "Supreme Intelligence," he said the term's association with the Supreme Court may have hurt its standing and announced a new poll to decide between the remaining two options.

"We will not in any way hinder or stifle the Growth of this incredible industry. Rather, we will cherish it, help it, and watch over it, as it grows! AI is the next Industrial Revolution, or Internet, but will be even larger and more impactful, possibly as much as 25 per cent of our Country's GDP."
