On August 7 — the same day the video of Sadie’s escorted arrival circulated — a federal indictment charged Clarence A. Frazier Jr., 48, of Alexandria, with the murder of a federal officer. Prosecutors announced they intend to seek the death penalty. Officials note that a federal capital prosecution involves an extended legal process and will proceed through the courts.
