A Nukhba operative who is alleged to have participated in the October 7 attacks was detained this week while driving a truck loaded with humanitarian aid toward the Kerem Shalom border crossing, Israeli media reported.
What happened: According to reports, security officials say the suspect had been collecting supplies from private merchants inside Gaza to transport on behalf of a client. IDF soldiers operating at the Kerem Shalom crossing stopped the vehicle and confirmed the driver’s identity and his alleged role in Hamas before he could pick up the goods.
Permits and procedures: Walla reported that the man had applied to serve as a humanitarian aid driver and that the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) had approved his application. Following his detention, the Shin Bet took him in for questioning.

Official response: The Shin Bet declined to comment on the operation, and the IDF issued no immediate statement regarding the arrest.
Wider concerns: An IDF source told Walla there is concern that areas such as Rafah could become concentration zones for displaced Palestinian civilians, raising the risk that militants might attempt to blend in and move undetected among the population.
Kerem Shalom is one of the primary entry points for humanitarian assistance into the Gaza Strip; shipments are processed there before distribution.
