Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s full-trust rating has fallen behind several senior military figures, a new Sozis poll found following rare public demonstrations linked to the dismissal of Mykhailo Fedorov from a senior government post.
Poll Results
The Sozis survey placed Zelensky sixth among national leaders: just 18% of respondents said they have full trust in the president. A further 24.5% said they somewhat trusted him, 17% reported little trust, and 37% expressed no trust at all.
Leading the rankings was Valeriy Zaluzhny, the former commander of Ukraine’s armed forces and now ambassador to the United Kingdom, who received 37.1% full trust and another 27.8% reporting some trust. Close behind Zaluzhny were Mykhailo Fedorov — whose dismissal triggered demonstrations in major Ukrainian cities — and Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s drone forces.
Zelensky also ranked lower than the newly appointed chief of the general staff, Mykhailo Draptyi, and Kyrylo Budanov, who also featured prominently in the poll.
Context
The results come amid heightened public attention after protests over the high-profile dismissal. The rankings suggest growing public confidence in certain military or security figures relative to the presidency at the time the survey was conducted.
Methodology
Sozis interviewed 2,000 Ukrainians between July 28 and August 2. The poll measured levels of trust in a range of national leaders; percentages above reflect respondents reporting “full trust” alongside additional tiers of partial or no trust.
