Russian drone strikes on Sumy killed at least two men and wounded three others, acting mayor Artem Kobsar said.

The attacks damaged a petrol station, ripped the roof off an apartment block and struck an unnamed infrastructure facility.

Russian forces are positioned about 20 kilometres from Sumy as Ukraine continues to repel a full-scale invasion that has lasted more than four years.

At least two men were killed and three others wounded in Russian drone strikes on the north-eastern Ukrainian city of Sumy, acting mayor Artem Kobsar said on Telegram on Friday.

Damage and Impact

The attacks damaged a petrol station, tore the roof off a residential apartment block and struck an unnamed infrastructure facility, local officials said. Authorities are continuing to assess the extent of the damage.

Location and Military Context

Russian forces are deployed roughly 20 kilometres from Sumy, according to regional reports. Sumy, located near Ukraine's northeastern border, has periodically seen strikes and military activity during the wider conflict.
