Regional authorities reported that Russian combat drones chased and struck two private cars in the Kharkiv region, killing two people and seriously injuring another. Officials said several other vehicles were destroyed during the day's strikes but caused no injuries. The deaths followed a Kharkiv airstrike a day earlier that reportedly killed two and injured 32, according to regional governor Oleh Syniehubov. Russia has intensified drone and missile attacks on major Ukrainian cities while the eastern front remains largely stalemated after more than four and a half years of war.
Russian Combat Drones Chase and Strike Cars Near Kharkiv, Killing Two Civilians

Regional authorities said on Saturday that Russian combat drones chased and struck two private cars in Ukraine's eastern Kharkiv region, killing two occupants and seriously wounding a passenger in one of the vehicles.
Officials reported that additional drone strikes destroyed several other vehicles across the region during the day, but those incidents did not cause injuries.
The fatalities came a day after an airstrike on the city of Kharkiv that Ukrainian officials said killed two people. Regional military governor Oleh Syniehubov wrote on Telegram that 32 people were injured in attacks involving glide bombs.
Oleh Syniehubov, Regional Governor: "An airstrike on Kharkiv left two dead and dozens injured, with multiple civilian targets struck by glide bombs and drones."
Russian forces have stepped up strikes on Ukrainian cities, repeatedly deploying drones and ballistic missiles against major population centres including Kyiv, Kharkiv and Odesa. The full-scale war launched by Russia more than four and a half years ago has left the eastern front largely deadlocked.
Local authorities continue to investigate the incidents and have urged civilians to remain in shelters and follow official safety guidance.
