At least five people have been killed and more than 20 others wounded in a series of Russian strikes across Ukraine, officials said on Wednesday. The attacks struck cities and infrastructure from Kyiv to the south‑east, leaving homes damaged, power outages and at least one ship hit off the Black Sea coast.

Kyiv: Mayor Vitali Klitschko said two people were killed and at least 22 people were injured in strikes across the capital. He posted details of the casualties on Telegram.
Sumy: Military governor Oleh Hryhorov reported impacts at four locations in the north‑eastern city, including damage to a residential area and civilian infrastructure. One person was injured.
Kharkiv Region: Mayor Ihor Terekhov said one person was killed in Kharkiv following evening strikes. In nearby Izium, authorities reported eight people injured and power outages across several districts after shelling.

Zaporizhzhia Region: Military governor Mykhailo Semikin said one person was killed in the settlement of Kushuhum.
Odesa Region and Black Sea: Governor Oleh Kiper said a cargo vessel flying the flag of Antigua and Barbuda was struck off the Odesa coast. The ship’s Ukrainian captain was killed, the remaining crew were evacuated and a fire aboard the vessel was extinguished. Kiper also reported two successive strikes on storage facilities holding medicines, household goods and food.
Claims From Russia
Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces struck a storage facility near Kyiv used for drone components and an arms manufacturing plant. It also claimed to have hit three logistics centres in the Odesa region containing military and dual‑use goods, plus a warehouse for drone components, and confirmed the strike on a ship it described as carrying military supplies to Odesa.

Ukraine has been defending itself with Western financial and military support for more than four and a half years.
