A Colombian national, Karina Marcela Osorio Díaz (known as "Dayana"), was sentenced to three years' probation and ordered deported after a 69-year-old businessman she met on a dating app woke during a robbery in his Puerto Madero apartment. The man discovered her attempting to take an 18-karat gold chain and found several missing watches. Police seized two phones, 80,000 pesos, a forged ID and a syringe with a sedative. Authorities labeled the case another example of so-called "viuda negra" dating-app robberies and warned the public to be cautious.
Dating-App 'Black Widow' Sentenced to Probation and Deported After Drugging Businessman in Buenos Aires

A Colombian national, Karina Marcela Osorio Díaz — known to her alleged victim as "Dayana" — was sentenced to three years' probation and ordered deported from Argentina after a businessman she met on a dating app woke up during a robbery and detained her, local authorities said.
The incident occurred at an apartment in Puerto Madero. According to court documents cited by Argentine outlets, the 69-year-old businessman, who lives in San Isidro, contacted Osorio Díaz via a dating app on April 27. He picked her up at about 10 p.m. at an intersection in Vicente López and drove her to his apartment on Juana Manso Street in Puerto Madero.
The pair listened to music and drank together before going to bed. Investigators later determined that the beverages she repeatedly offered had been laced with a psychoactive substance intended to render the man unconscious. Around 3 a.m., the businessman awoke to find Osorio Díaz attempting to remove an 18-karat gold chain from his neck.
When he searched the apartment he discovered several watches missing from his wardrobe, later identified as Rolex replicas. He told the woman,
"Dayana, if you do not give me the chain, I'm going to call the police,"and when she refused he contacted authorities.
Police who arrived at the scene arrested Osorio Díaz. A search turned up two cellphones, 80,000 Argentine pesos in cash, and a forged Colombian identity card in the name of "Yessica Dayana Montes Gómez." Investigators also seized a syringe containing a painkiller believed to have been used to sedate the victim.
Argentine media described Osorio Díaz as a "viuda negra" or "black widow," a label commonly applied to criminals who allegedly drug dating-app partners and steal from them while they sleep. In this case, the alleged plan unraveled when the intended victim regained consciousness before the theft could be completed.
At trial she was convicted of robbery through the use of hypnotic substances and given three years' probation. Authorities also discovered she had been staying in Argentina illegally; she was briefly detained at Ezeiza Airport and has been ordered deported and barred from returning.
Context and Warnings
Officials have warned that similar "black widow" robberies have become more frequent in Buenos Aires and often originate from dating platforms such as Tinder. Local reporting cited a comparable case in November 2025 in which an alleged perpetrator reportedly targeted a senior police commissioner.
Safety reminder: Authorities advise caution when meeting strangers from dating apps—avoid leaving drinks unattended, share meeting details with a trusted contact, and consider meeting first in public places.
