Likud MK Moshe Saada told Channel 14 on Thursday that "we are approaching an attack on Iran, perhaps even as early as this weekend," comments that have stirred controversy and reportedly angered Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office.
Saada repeated the warning during the interview while discussing rising tensions between the United States and Iran and assessments that a regional escalation could occur in the coming days. The remarks were broadcast prominently by Channel 14 under the headline referring to a possible "slip of the tongue."
"We all know that we are approaching an attack on Iran, perhaps even as early as this weekend; those are the assessments," Saada said on air.
