Authorities say a 38-year-old Michigan woman who went viral after slipping out of a police cruiser window while handcuffed was taken back into custody days later.
The dramatic incident unfolded Saturday in a Muskegon Heights parking lot while officers were attending to a suspect's vehicle. A witness-recorded video shows the woman pushing her upper body through a partially opened rear window of a patrol car, lowering herself to the pavement one leg at a time and then running off even though her hands remained cuffed.

The Muskegon County Prosecutor's Office and Fox 2 Detroit identified the woman as Kendra Aney, 38. Officials say she had an outstanding parole-violation warrant when she was initially detained.
According to the Muskegon Heights Police Department (MHPD), officers had located a vehicle parked at an abandoned business and used a fingerprint scanner to confirm the identity and criminal history of the female passenger. Officers then took the woman into custody, placed her in handcuffs and secured her in the rear seat of the patrol vehicle.

"A short time later, while officers were searching the suspect's vehicle, the female was able to squeeze through the partially open rear window, exit the patrol vehicle and flee the scene on foot," the MHPD said.
Officers returned to the vehicle quickly but were unable to locate her at the scene. Roughly four hours after the escape, police received reports from a nearby resident of a home break-in; authorities allege the escapee broke into that residence approximately an hour after fleeing the patrol vehicle.
MHPD said investigators are pursuing charges related to escape, breaking and entering, and larceny. Fox News Digital contacted the Muskegon County Prosecutor's Office for additional comment.
