What Happened
According to a police bulletin published Monday, Feb. 16, Genesis was reported missing around 3 a.m. The department initially misstated her age and misspelled her name in early bulletins; detectives later confirmed she is 2 years old and will turn 3 in March. At the time she was last known to be in the home, the toddler was wearing pink Minnie Mouse pajamas.
Investigation Updates
As investigators conducted interviews, detectives concluded the child had not been seen for several weeks. Neighbors told local outlets they had not seen Genesis in that time frame — one said Genesis and her mother stopped their regular walks on Apache Drive a few weeks earlier, another said she had not seen the child since before Christmas, and a neighbor reported seeing Genesis’ mother alone at a store on Valentine’s Day.
Officials said Genesis’ mother, Adrienne Reid, is being detained for questioning. Police emphasized that she has not been formally named a suspect, charged, or labeled a person of interest. Investigators are also looking for a woman identified as Moriah, described as a Black female who frequents Levels Bar and Grille on Daleville Avenue in Enterprise and has been seen in areas of Ozark.
Enterprise Police Chief Michael Moore said local, state and federal agencies are assisting with the search and praised the strong community support. “We have a large search party out today,” Moore said, urging the public to stay out of active search areas and to contact the department if they wish to volunteer when relief is needed.
Vivienne Reid, Genesis’ grandmother, appealed directly to the public: “I don’t care what state, what county, please call the police. She was not given willingly. Please contact us via Messenger, Facebook, whatever. Please contact me.”
