Jan 22 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump has filed a $5 billion lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase and its chief executive, Jamie Dimon, Fox Business reported on Thursday.
The suit, filed Thursday morning in Florida state court in Miami by Trump attorney Alejandro Brito, alleges the bank severed financial ties with Trump for political reasons. The complaint centers on claims that JPMorgan "debanked" the president following the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol by some of his supporters.
Trump had said over the weekend he expected to sue JPMorgan within two weeks, accusing the bank of politically motivated actions. JPMorgan did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment, and Reuters could not independently verify the Fox Business report.
