Tom Homan: ICE Agent Accused In Renee Good Shooting Has 'Gone Into Hiding', Homan Says

White House border adviser Tom Homan told Will Cain’s podcast that the ICE agent accused in the shooting death of protester Renee Good has gone into hiding after posters labeled the agent "wanted for murder." Homan said the agent is secluded while awaiting release of the full facts and could pursue legal action. The shooting sparked anti-ICE protests in Minneapolis and a sharp political response, and federal officials said additional ICE agents would be deployed to Minnesota. Public opinion remains divided along partisan lines.

White House border adviser Tom Homan said Tuesday that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent accused in the shooting death of protester Renee Good has gone into seclusion amid angry public reaction.

Homan made the claim during an interview on Fox News contributor Will Cain’s podcast, saying he had seen posters identifying the agent, named by others as Jonathan Ross, and labeling him “wanted for murder.” Homan said that public rhetoric has left the agent no choice but to remove himself from public view.

“I know for a fact now he has to be in hiding,” Homan told Cain. “It’s beyond the pale. They are way over the line.”

Homan said Ross is remaining isolated while investigators work to establish the full facts of the incident. Asked whether Ross might pursue defamation lawsuits against politicians and public figures who have called him a murderer, Homan said he would not be surprised if legal action followed once the facts are publicly released.

Protests, Local Leaders' Reaction, And Federal Response

The shooting triggered anti-ICE demonstrations over the weekend, including large protests in Minneapolis. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey sharply criticized the agency in the hours after the shooting, and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz urged the White House not to send additional troops to the state.

Public opinion has split largely along partisan lines: critics on the left describe the shooting as unlawful and say Good was attempting to flee, while many on the right argue the agent acted in self-defense and point to video they say shows the vehicle striking the officer after blocking a road.

President Donald Trump described Good as a “professional agitator” who had been disrespectful toward law enforcement.

Department of Homeland Security officials told Fox News that they planned to deploy additional ICE agents to Minnesota. Homan confirmed the deployment, saying the incoming personnel would focus on apprehending the "worst of the worst" among undocumented immigrants and addressing agitators who cross legal lines.

“You can protest all you want—you have that constitutional right,” Homan said. “But when you cross that line of impeding, interfering, and putting hands on an ICE officer, you’re going to jail. We’re not going away.”

What Happens Next

Investigations into the shooting are ongoing. Homan emphasized that the agent is awaiting the release of the “actual facts” before taking any further public or legal action. Officials and community leaders have signaled continued tension in the coming days as demonstrations and political debate persist.
