Fatal shooting at MGM National Harbor prompts manhunt

Police are searching for a gunman captured on surveillance video after a targeted shooting at the MGM National Harbor Casino and Resort in Maryland that killed a man on Wednesday.

Prince George's County Police Chief George Nader said the shooting was reported just before noon and occurred in the casino's food court. Investigators say the suspect entered the food court and appeared to head directly toward the victim, indicating the attack was likely planned.

Officers who arrived at the scene found a man in his 20s who had been fatally shot. Police reviewing camera footage said there was no visible interaction between the suspect and the victim; the victim was ordering food when the gunfire began.

No other injuries were reported. Authorities say the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle and was not in the area when officers arrived. A suspect description and a possible motive have not been released.

MGM National Harbor remains open apart from the closed food court, and some nearby schools were briefly placed on lockdown. Chief Nader said, 'MGM is safe. The harbor is safe,' and noted violent crime at MGM and National Harbor is down roughly 32% this year. He expressed confidence that investigators will solve the case.
