Influencer Stefanie Pieper, 31, Found Dead in Slovenian Forest After Ex-Boyfriend Allegedly Confessed

Stefanie Pieper, a 31-year-old beauty influencer, has been found dead in a forest in Slovenia nearly a week after she was reported missing. Authorities say her 31-year-old ex-boyfriend allegedly confessed to strangling her and led investigators to the location where her body had been concealed in a suitcase.

Pieper disappeared after returning to her apartment from a Christmas party on Nov. 23. Witnesses say she and a friend exited a taxi at her building, but when she failed to appear for a scheduled photo shoot the next day, family members reported her missing and police opened an inquiry.

Timeline and key developments

On Nov. 24, Slovenian police discovered a car fire in a casino parking lot near the Austria–Slovenia border. The vehicle was linked to Pieper's ex-boyfriend, who was found nearby and arrested at the scene; an extradition request to Austria was later filed. Local reports say Pieper sent a WhatsApp message saying she had arrived home safely and a subsequent message indicating she believed someone was in the stairwell. Neighbors reported hearing an argument and said they had seen the ex-boyfriend in the building.

Investigators detained the ex-boyfriend and later also arrested two of his family members; all three are in custody and being questioned. Forensic tests on the suspect's vehicle initially produced no clues about Pieper's whereabouts. Search operations in Slovenia were carried out early in the investigation but were unsuccessful until authorities say the suspect confessed and guided them to the site where the body was hidden.

Ongoing investigation

Authorities in both Austria and Slovenia are cooperating on the case as they gather evidence and continue questioning those in custody. Officials have described the matter as an active criminal investigation and have not released further details about charges or court proceedings. The case has drawn attention because of Pieper’s public profile and the violent circumstances alleged by investigators.

Out of respect for the ongoing inquiry and the family, authorities have provided limited public details; journalists and followers continue to monitor developments as investigators work to establish the full facts surrounding Pieper’s death.
