San Jose police say three people with gunshot wounds were transported to local hospitals after a shooting at Westfield Valley Fair mall during Black Friday shopping. Authorities have described the injuries as non-life-threatening and said the incident appears to be isolated.

"Officers are still diligently clearing the mall. In total, 3 victims were transported to local hospitals with injuries that have been determined to be non-life threatening. Please continue to avoid the area," the San Jose Police Department posted on X.

Police reiterated that this is not an active shooter situation. Officers conducted evacuations and systematic sweeps of the mall to ensure there was no ongoing threat to public safety and asked the public to stay away from the area while they secured the scene.

San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan posted that "there is no ongoing threat to the community," and expressed condolences for the victims and appreciation for the officers working the incident.
