Colorado Man Found Dead in Tobago Fishing Village; Suspect in Custody

Christopher Brown, 43, from Silverthorne, Colorado, was found dead on Nov. 26 in Castara, Tobago, with multiple stab wounds and a metal object protruding from his back. He had been out to dinner and drinks and reportedly left to buy marijuana before the attack. Police say a suspect is in custody but have not released a motive or identity. Christopher Brown, 43, a builder from Silverthorne, Colorado, was found dead in the fishing village of Castara, Tobago, on Wednesday, Nov. 26. Local authorities are treating the case as a homicide.

Officers responded around 10:35 p.m. to a report of an unresponsive man. Brown was discovered lying face down on a flight of concrete steps near the Castara Government Primary School with multiple wounds and a metal object protruding from his back. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a police report, earlier that evening Brown had dined with his girlfriend and another couple and later went to a nearby bar. Friends say he told them he was leaving to buy marijuana before the attack.

Police Commissioner Allister Guevarro confirmed that a suspect is currently in custody; authorities have not released the individual's identity or a possible motive. Local investigators continue to collect forensic evidence and interview witnesses as they piece together the events leading to Brown's death.

Tobago’s Division of Tourism said Castara is generally considered a safe community and described the incident as an isolated act of violence. Officials urged residents and visitors to remain calm while the investigation proceeds.
