Stefanie Pieper, a 31-year-old makeup artist and beauty influencer from Graz, Austria, has been reported missing after returning home from a Christmas party on the morning of Sunday, Nov. 23. Family members raised the alarm when Pieper failed to show up for a scheduled photoshoot and could not be reached by phone.

Officers found Pieper’s dog alone in her apartment and discovered her phone had been switched off. According to authorities, Pieper reportedly messaged a friend by WhatsApp saying she had arrived home safely, later took her dog for a walk, and then sent another message indicating she believed someone was in the building’s stairwell. Neighbors told investigators they heard an argument and saw Pieper’s ex-boyfriend at the scene.

Police say the ex-boyfriend, also 31, was later located and arrested by Slovenian authorities after his car was found burning in a casino parking lot near the Austria–Slovenia border. Slovenian police detained the man at the scene and Austria has requested his extradition. Forensic examination of the burned vehicle reportedly produced no evidence that directly explains Pieper’s whereabouts.

In a subsequent update, Austrian investigators confirmed that two relatives of the arrested ex-boyfriend were also detained in Austria and remain in custody while being questioned. Authorities emphasized that the missing woman has not been located and that investigations and search operations are ongoing in both Austria and Slovenia.

Police warned the public not to rely on unconfirmed reports circulating online that Pieper has been found. Officials said they are continuing to coordinate cross-border inquiries and searches while pursuing all available leads.
